Akura-Ou

Akura-Ou is an ancient demon. His initial untamed arrogance and savagery often clashed with Tomoe. He relished in slaughter and viewed humans as weak and easily toyed with. Despite this disdain for humanity, he developed a certain fascination for one human: Nanami.

His original personality was also tinged with childlike ignorance and prideful overconfidence. However, after inhabiting Kirihito’s body, he started to understand the idiosyncrasies of humans better. His unsuspected tenderness towards Kirihito’s mother hinted at personal growth toward understanding humanity better.

Nanami

Nanami is kind and compassionate. Her indomitable spirit lands her in trouble just as often as it helps her out. Nanami’s resolve never wavers even when faced with challenges. Moreover, her belief in love between humans and yokai is the driving force behind many of her actions. Her courage, interspersed with hotheadedness, often has her standing up for herself and others.

Nanami’s personality isn’t conventional. She is tomboyish, emotional and tends to act without proper consideration. Her statement about never marrying is contradicted when she agrees to marry a young Tomoe.

Tomoe

Tomoe is cunning and sly. He is seemingly oblivious to his own magnetism but always ready to exploit it when needed. He hides a warm heart beneath the cold exterior which gradually surfaces in his relationship with Nanami Momozono. His romantic transformation unfolds slowly as he evolves from scornful detachment to genuine love for her.

He is hotheaded and blunt. But, Tomoe’s loyalty and protective nature underline his strong character traits. Lastly, he is not just about good looks. He also possesses immense power that manifests in fox-fire magic and control spells cast using enchanted leaves.

Mizuki

Mizuki is a divine white snake with green eyes and white hair. He led a very sheltered life before meeting Nanami. While he’s less experienced than his friends, he can still be very clever and manipulative.

His affection for Nanami is obvious resulting in jealousy due to her love for Tomoe. He tried to get between them on numerous occasions but to no avail. Next, Mizuki is extremely naive and innocent, similar to a child. In simple terms, he is a large, goofy, lovable baby.

Kurama

Kurama is a charismatic yokai. He is adored by fans but burdened by deep-rooted arrogance and selfishness. As an idol, he skillfully engages with the swooning masses. He uses this popularity to fuel his ambition of becoming a Land God. This plan softens after befriending Nanami Momozono.

Although he still basks in his fame and demonstrates dominance around fans, he evolves into a reliable friend. Women constantly adore him, but Kurama is still lonely at the core. This isolation frequently leads him to Nanami’s company apart from his adoring fans.
