Thorffin
Thorffin is a trader and adventurer attempting to settle in Vinland. He used to be a warrior of Askeladd’s band and a slave on Ketil’s farm. Thorffin was born in Iceland as a child of the most famous Jomsviking warrior Thors and his wife Helga.
He spent the majority of his life attempting to take revenge on Askeladd for killing his father. In doing so, he killed countless people. Nevertheless, he didn’t manage to get his revenge and was instead enslaved for his efforts. Afterward, he vowed to change his life for good and create a peaceful land free of slavery in Vinland.
In the beginning, Thorffin is seen as a cold-blooded individual with only one purpose in life, avenging his father. He also lacked empathy and didn’t care about other people’s opinions. His biggest weakness was his hot-headed and impulsive nature. After being enslaved he takes on a more kind and pacifistic attitude.
Canute
Canute is the king of England and Denmark. He has long blonde hair and large blue eyes. Because of these features and his feminine-looking face, until his late teens, he was often confused for a girl. He cut his hair short and grew facial hair once he became a king.
Initially, Canute is weak and constantly hides behind Ragnar. Due to Thorfinn’s belittling, he begins sticking up for himself. He develops a demanding personality after his father and Ragnar are murdered. Later, he becomes a clever and manipulative king with no empathy for anyone trying to oppose his rule.
Askeladd
Askeladd, son of Lydia and Olaf, is a Viking who commanded the mercenary band of Vikings. Floki contracted him to assassinate Thorfinn’s father Thors which lead to him being followed by vengeful Thorfinn for over a decade.
He is a tall, muscular Viking known for his speed. He has light blue eyes and his hair is blonde. Another notable Askeladd feature is his heavy eyelids which make his unimpressed facial expressions especially obvious.
Askeladd is sly and manipulative, yet extremely charismatic and intelligent. Furthermore, he is an excellent swordsman. His biggest strength lies in his intelligence and strategic mind.

Thorkell
Thorkell, also referred to as Thorkell the Tall and Thorkell the Invincible is a former Jomsviking commander. Currently, he serves as a commander under Canute. He fought for the Danes for the majority of his life before switching sides in 1013. He began fighting for the English because he thought it would be more interesting.
He is considered to be the strongest Viking by many due to his otherworldy strength. He is 230cm (7 ft 6 in) tall and weighs around 180 kg ( 400 pounds). Despite being a fun man in and out of combat, he becomes irritable if deprived of fighting for too long. From that, we can conclude that fighting brings out the best in him.
After becoming an Earl in peaceful England he started raiding the homes of the people under his earldom purely out of boredom. He loves fighting powerful opponents in a one-on-one fight to the death rather than getting a number advantage.
