Pochita

Pochita is multifaceted in appearance depending on his form, from a small orange canine-like Devil to a colossal four-armed humanoid. He communicates via barks and whines but forms a telepathic link after fusing with Denji. Pochita cares deeply for Denji, willing to replace his heart and help him fulfill his dreams.

Despite being inherently dangerous, Pochita harbors an attachment to humanity and uses his powers responsibly. He consumes other devils threatening humanity and assuages situations when called upon by humans or devils alike. His fearsome reputation makes him one of the most powerful entities in their world.

Denji

Denji is a raw and unrefined individual. His brashness and naivety stem from a lack of education due to crippling poverty. Despite this, he possesses a deep empathy and can be surprisingly clever when dealing with threats. His desires are fundamental, being driven by sexual gratification and the need for affection. He often acts as a thrill-seeker in fights against Devils, uncovering a sadistic side.

After suffering emotional trauma and loss, he shows an inclination toward becoming more ambitious and flamboyant in his pursuits. Despite his rough demeanor and obsession with money, he is shown to be deeply caring towards those close to him like his adopted sister Nayuta whom he prioritizes ensuring she has a good education above all else. However, life’s challenges often wear him down.

Makima

Makima is an inhuman devil disguised as a typical woman in her twenties with light red hair and unique yellow eyes. Beneath her gentle and friendly exterior lies a ruthlessly calculating creature who views others as mere pawns to be used for her own gain. Her manipulative nature is demonstrated by her control over Denji, promised love but threatened with extermination for disobedience.

She understands herself to be a necessary evil under the Japanese government’s control and is undeterred by any challenges to her plans. For Makima, the ultimate aim is to command Chainsaw Man’s power or die trying to create an ideal world.

Power

Power is a fiend who can transform into a four-armed, horned devil with a captivatingly haunting form. She’s childish, impulsive, utterly self-centered, and a habitual liar with no notable loyalty to either humans or devils. She boasts about her strength and superiority as a Fiend but will flee when faced with an unbeatable opponent.

Her ego often overweighs her actual abilities leading to unfinished tasks and deflected failures. Power shows little regard for cleanliness, viewing human hygiene practices as excessive. However, she displays hints of vulnerability due to PTSD after experiencing severe trauma. But, she also reveals uncharacteristic compassion for her pet Meowy and a few close friends like Denji, even sacrificing herself for him despite her naturally selfish nature.

Aki Hayakawa

Aki is a young man with medium-length black hair and blue eyes. He has an imposing stature and carries the spirit of a determined warrior. This stoic Devil Hunter sports a suit and tie as his uniform and uses a sword as his main weapon. Aki’s toughness hides his softhearted nature. He becomes easily attached to others and does not shy away from showing grief for those lost.

Yet he remains ruthlessly committed to avenging his family by killing the Gun Devil, even if that means putting his life on the line. His disdain for those not taking their job seriously initially strained his relationship with Denji. But over time, Aki began to value his companionship along with others such as Power or the Angel Devil. The cold detachment he projects often subsides revealing sorrow for fallen comrades, fear of losing loved ones, and even willingness to abandon revenge for their safety.
