Shizuka Marikawa

Shizuka is the school nurse at Fujimi High School. She stands out with her pronounced curves, hazel eyes, and waist-length blonde hair. The 27-year-old bachelorette is known for her friendliness but can exhibit obliviousness to her surroundings in troublesome situations. Despite being the only adult in a group of survivors following a zombie outbreak, Shizuka grapples with emotional fragility and uncertainty about her future.

However, she powerfully steps up as their “chaperone” and maintains their health with impressive medical knowledge. Her dependence on the group for protection does not undermine an occasional display of seriousness or neglect of her nurturing nature. She tends to misinterpret comments as sexual innuendos when intoxicated and has no reservations about revealing her body which leads to comical moments amidst all the chaos.

Saya Takagi

Saya is the whip-smart teenage daughter of an influential Japanese politician. Though short in stature, she compensates with her striking long pink hair and fiery orange eyes. Saya’s tendency to proclaim herself a genius can make her seem aloof, and she resents not being addressed by her first name.

Yet, this mask hides a caring heart as seen in her protective relationship with Alice Maresato, whom Saya treats like a younger sister. Her relationship with Kohta Hirano evolves from dismissive to respectful over time. On top of that, she harbors an unrequited crush on childhood friend Takashi Komuro.

Rei Miyamoto

Rei is an attractive young woman with orange-brown hair which is often styled in a casual ponytail and bangs. Her preferred attire throughout the series changes slightly. The most consistent thing is her school uniform, which has evolved to include fingerless gloves and elbow pads for protection.

She is headstrong, caring, and reliable. One could say she is a literal pacifist warrior who struggles with the concept of killing to survive. Saeko Busujima

Saeko is a tall and elegant girl with long purple hair and striking blue eyes. She is often seen in various clothes, ranging from her school uniform to kimonos and battle gear. Simultaneously kind and ferocious, she carries out the principles of Bushido with an eerie calmness that can be chilling at times.

Saeko’s compassionate side is revealed through her sisterly role within the group. She has some sadistic tendencies which sprouted during a horrifying encounter when she discovered the thrill she took in asserting dominance over another being. Despite this dark revelation, she struggles to kill even zombies who were once children.
