Izumi Miyamura

Izumi is seen as a gloomy, anti-social otaku by his high school classmates, largely due to his aloof nature and struggles with social interactions during his childhood. Izumi had a propensity towards pessimism stemming from the bullying he endured and would adopt self-harming habits as a coping mechanism during tougher days at school.

A turning point in his personality occurred after befriending Kouichi Shindou, whose positive influence helped Izumi become less gloomy over time. He portrays a protective side towards friends, going as far as resorting to violence when their well-being is threatened. Despite having a laid-back attitude toward studies and struggling with the pronunciation of certain Japanese words, Izumi has a knack for tongue twisters.

Tooru Ishikawa

Tooru, a striking teenager with purple hair and matching eyes, carries an air of normalcy amidst his eclectic group of friends. He is known for his explosive temper, balanced by his regret that immediately follows any outbursts. Despite his initial jealousy towards Izumi Miyamura, the two become closest friends, tangling him into a complicated attachment to Kyouko Hori.

However, Tooru slowly lets go of these lingering feelings as he develops a romantic connection with Yuki Yoshikawa. His relationship with childhood friend Shu Iura is one of candid bluntness while he also shares a warm bond with family helper Kayo Yashiro.

Kyouko Hori

Kyouko is a radiant beauty with an above-average height. She has chestnut-brown hair, usually loose at school and tied up in various styles at home, and large, golden-brown eyes that mirror her mother’s youth. Her school uniform is standard, but she embraces casual t-shirts and jeans at home, revealing her approachability.

She is a bubbly and popular beacon of energy amongst her peers. She is a notorious daydreamer who tends to mask her underlying feelings with a beaming smile even when circumstances are grim. She treasures relationships deeply, though insecurity occasionally arises due to her unspoken affection for her friend Tooru Ishikawa.

Her desire to maintain harmony often leaves her desires unsatisfied as she prioritizes others’ happiness above hers. She is a proclaimed ‘plebe’ who loves action video games and carries an unrequited love for Izumi Miyamura. Amidst all the turmoil, one thing that remains consistent is her warm-heartedness which draws friends closer.

Kyousuke Hori
